Course Design Questions
- What do you want your training course to achieve?
- What does the training needs analysis indicate?
- How should the course be designed to meet your objectives?
- What are the criteria for measuring success?
Understanding the purpose of your training
Do you need to change the working practises of staff or maybe introduce a new system? You want this done as effectively as possible and with minimum disruption. We know that any truly effective training course is designed by understanding what change is required and why. Our Backwards Design model means we identify your desired results and then work back from there to achieve them. How do we do that?Training needs analysis
Our training needs analysis ensures your training course is targeted according to specific needs within your organisation. We use staff assessments to look for skills gaps and also ensure that end users are involved in the process. We won't waste your time and money on training that is not needed.
Designing the course to meet your objectives
We will propose a course designed to fulfil your goals and to fit within your business culture. We will determine the most cost effective training delivery methods which can include online and remote instruction. We will suggest training materials and post-training support options.
Measuring the course for success
How will you know if the training is working? Unlike other training companies we do not rely solely on end of course evaluations. We will measure the effectiveness of the training course according to your criteria. Is there a change of knowledge, attitude, behaviour? How does that relate back to your objectives?
Key questions for effective training course design:
- What are the business forces for this training?
- Who are the stakeholders and what do they want to achieve?
- Who are the learners and what do they want to achieve?
- What are the cost and time implications?
- Which training methodologies will be effective and suit the business model?
- What is the gap between existing and proposed knowledge?
- What are the measures of success?
- Reporting stages and methods?
Testimonial
| "Tracy led the training for a pan European deployment project I managed. Her attention to detail, drive and bubbly personality made her an invaluable member across the implementation phase. Tracy is an outstanding trainer and engages well with all participants of varying technical backgrounds. Her course material development and logistics preparation left us totally confident that our product would be well received by the end users." |
